Our Story
Two Kitchens, One Family
Our story began in two family kitchens — one in B'nai Brak, one in Jerusalem — where love, community, and tradition shaped who we are today.
Co-Founder
Shaike Korlansky
The eighth of nine siblings, Shaike's earliest memories are of cooking schnitzel beside his mother. That kitchen sparked a lifelong devotion to giving through food, refined over travels through more than thirty countries and twenty-plus years behind the line. Inspired by Japanese gardens, crystal spring water, and healing hot springs, he cooks with the belief that food carries energy that nourishes body and spirit alike.
Co-Founder
Ari Beck
Ari's inspiration traces back to his grandmother Rachel, who taught him that the work put in today becomes the beauty of tomorrow. A builder's instinct for structure and form shapes every event he touches — whether he's running at sunrise or dancing at a music festival, he brings that same rhythm to the table. When guests smile at what's in front of them, he says it plainly: the work was worth it, for this moment.
"We work as one family — rooted in unity, collaboration, and gratitude."

Chef Shaike's Inspiration
Where the Ideas Come From
Chef Shaike finds his best ideas when he is relaxed. Often that is high in the mountains, deep in nature, surrounded by fresh water and hot springs.
There, he listens. He breathes in the aroma of nature and hears how everything around us works together. He sees snow when he skis, and he smells palm trees in the warm air. He listens to the sound of people enjoying themselves.
He rides his mountain bike through the hills and watches the flowers come out in the spring.
He travels to different places and meets different cultures. In each one he learns how people take a few things from their own land and turn them into endless variety. That is the idea he brings home to every menu we make.
In Spain, Chef Shaike learned what freshness really means, in places where the tuna is caught fresh from the sea. In Japan, he learned that people already pay a year in advance for the next year's tuna.
He learned about the different parts of the tuna and how special each one is. The belly is grilled and served as the most tender, juicy piece of the fish. It is the same with sardines and an endless variety of other fish.
And the biggest lesson: when food is this fresh, it needs very little. Just salt and olive oil.
Spain
Simple Food, Done Right
In Spain, Chef Shaike learned how many ways there are to cook the simplest foods: different kinds of potatoes, eggs and tuna.
He learned the art of pickles, peppers, garlic, and cucumber with cheese, and how olive oil is used to cure food and keep it fresh.
He also learned how to work with salt: how to bring out the flavor of different salts, mix them with herbs and use them in cooking.

Italy
Where He Feels at Home
Italy is blessed with sweetness, the biggest personality in Europe. You are always welcomed with a joke, a story and a smile.
Once, a taxi driver told Chef Shaike: “Every day I have fresh pizza and fresh cheese. What else do I need in my life?” When it is that fresh and delicious, there is nothing else to look for.
Farmers who grow basil and tomatoes will explain for hours when to harvest each one. Every ingredient has a name and a family caring for it.
On lunch breaks with the team, sharing laughter without a shared language, he felt at home.
He comes back once or twice a year to sail, walk and be inspired by the sea, the islands and the mountains.
Capri, with Mount Vesuvius across the bayStromboli, the volcanic islandAn ancient food counter in PompeiiPanna cotta with strawberry, mint and crushed nutsFilled pasta in a light sauceWildflowers and snow-capped Dolomites
France
The Sound of Respect
In France, Chef Shaike is fascinated by how chocolate and petit fours are taken to the highest level. He is also fascinated by how the French talk about food, with respect and pride in every ingredient, even simple butter.
He met the Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx and saw his deep understanding of food, down to its biology, and how two ingredients can create a new texture and flavor.
He admired how Chef Marx works with people from difficult backgrounds, bringing them together to deliver the highest level of food and service.

Germany
Memory, Forgiveness and Quality
Germany is a very emotional place for Chef Shaike. He feels the pain and suffering of his family, and he understands the level of forgiveness we have to reach in life. He appreciates the honesty of the locals on every corner, where they keep the story alive.
Still, he is inspired by their respect for quality and service with joy. People appreciate quality and are willing to pay for it.
He learned how carefully they protect honey, like a diamond, and how they care for the bees and respect nature. He loves the Alpine air, so fresh that, for him, it can heal.
He tasted homemade sausages, cured and cooked cabbage, the most delicious potatoes and German sourdough. And he came away understanding quality.

Switzerland
Water, Timing and Care
Switzerland has the beauty of water: rivers you can swim in, and the blessing of water in its most colorful form.
Chef Shaike loves how they care for the cow. In summer she goes up the mountain to eat incredible flowers, and in winter she comes down near the river. That gives Swiss milk and cheese a unique flavor, a sweetness you can taste.
He learned about timing there: the clock keeps moving, the trains run, and being on time matters. He also learned about farming, caring for the land and the animals so the quality shows. He learned about fruit trees that give fruit once a year, mushrooms of every kind, pickled vegetables for every season, and almost 100% recycling, with even the compost returned to the ground.
It is a place he loves to return to once or twice a year.

Hungary
Where the Roots Are
Hungary is where the roots of Chef Shaike's life are.
There he learned the beauty of art and history, and how Hungary opened its door to host his family through the generations.
And he learned the delicious cuisine: the importance of cabbage in the diet and the tradition of stuffed cabbage, how to cook with tomatoes, sweet peppers and the famous paprika, and the chicken paprikash. Every dish carries the tradition of Hungarian cooking.
He also learned about fine dining and the art of ceramics, with its different temperatures and different colors.

Terms of Service
By using this website or ordering from Glatt Miami by Shaike's, you agree to these terms.
For catered events, these terms summarize how we normally work. Your signed catering agreement is the final word and controls if anything differs.
Quotes and bookings
Quotes and proposals depend on your date, menu, guest count, venue, and the season. A date is held only once we confirm it in writing and receive the deposit. Prices on this website may change.
Payment schedule (catered events only)
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due when the agreement is signed, plus a refundable $500 security deposit for unexpected incidentals. It is returned within 7 days after the event if no extra costs arise.
A second non-refundable deposit of 25% is due 45 days before the event. If the event is within 30 days of signing, it is due with the first deposit.
The final 25% is due 15 days before the event. Unpaid balances may mean we cannot perform the event, and the client is responsible for collection costs and reasonable attorney's fees.
Prices are discounted 4% for cash, check, or wire. Add 4% for credit card payments.
Sales tax is added to the event price. Gratuities for staff are gratefully accepted.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel, the deposits already paid are non-refundable. If you cancel because of extreme weather, illness, injury, or death, we keep a percentage of the total event cost that rises as the event gets closer, as set out in your agreement. Within 24 hours of the event, the full cost is due. You may take a refund or a catering credit, and a catering credit carries an extra 25%.
Final guest count and menu changes
Your final guest count, including vendor meals, and full payment are due 15 days before the event. Guests added after that are $10 each. Guests added within 2 days of the event are $25 each. Reserved places are billed even if unfilled.
Menu and beverage changes are not permitted within 15 days of the event. If a change is truly necessary, it is $500 per item.
Leftovers belong to Shaike's, and we may reasonably substitute items if we cannot obtain a specific one.
Setup, schedule and venue
Please send us a written floor plan at least 5 days before the event.
Please start and end on time. Outside vendors must set up and clear within the agreed times. Overtime or extra costs caused by delays are billed to the client.
We provide only the services written in your agreement. Centerpieces, gift wrapping, games and special effects are not included.
If the client leaves without cleaning up and we handle it, a cleanup fee of $2.50 per guest (minimum $250) and a garbage removal fee of $5 per guest (minimum $500) apply.
At third-party venues that require liability insurance, an additional $600 fee applies. The client is responsible for any damage caused by guests.
Kosher supervision
Our food is prepared under the supervision of the Orthodox Rabbinical Board (ORB). Our kashrus certificate is shown on this website. Some venues have their own rules, and we will confirm the details with your venue.
Any outside food or drink, including wine, liquor, desserts, candy and goody bags, must be approved by the ORB mashgiach at least one day before the event (not counting Shabbos and Yom Tov) and must be in original sealed packaging.
All wine must be mevushal, and all beverages must be kosher and ORB approved. Outside items brought within one hour of the start of the event can lead to a $300 ORB fine, which the client pays.
If outside food is brought in, a charge applies for plates and flatware: $5 per person for china and silver, or $2 per person for plastic. For outside beverages, glassware is $5 per person, or $2 per person for plastic.
The client is responsible for monitoring guests' alcohol intake.
Accessibility
Please tell us at least 15 days before the event about any guests with special needs, so we can accommodate them properly.
Food orders and takeout
Orders are prepared for the pickup or delivery date you choose. Please follow the heating and storage instructions we provide.
Please tell us about food allergies before you order. Our kitchen handles common allergens.
Takeout and holiday orders are paid in full when you place the order. The deposit schedule above applies only to catered events.
Changes or cancellations should be made as early as possible. Refund terms are given in your order confirmation.
Yacht and boat charters
Charters are arranged with independent vessel operators. Vessels, capacity, availability, and final terms are confirmed once you choose, and they depend on your date, time, and the season. Crew gratuity may be added.

Photos, text, and menus on this site belong to Glatt Miami by Shaike's or are used with permission. Menus and items may change without notice.
Contingency and disputes
Our obligations are subject to events beyond our control, such as severe weather, disaster, government action, or similar causes. Agreements are governed by Florida law. Any dispute is resolved through binding mediation in Broward County, Florida, with the prevailing party recovering reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
Limitation
This website is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by using it.
